We have been working with Envirowall through our supply chain for several months and have now successfully built a Pharmacy area in store out of Envirowall’s strawboard product.
We are currently working with Envirowall to use their Strawboard product in the manufacture of all Sainsbury’s Pharmacies as part of a major sustainability drive for our business this year and beyond.

Due to the unique sustainability credentials of Envirowall Strawboard, high quality of the product and ease of incorporation into our standard fixture and equipment designs we are now looking beyond the Pharmacy fixtures and hoping to incorporate Envirowall strawboard into other fixtures and equipment throughout our stores nationwide.
We were particularly impressed with Envirowall’s commitment to do things the right way, sustainably and commercially. We are confident their product will be successfully incorporated into our store development program over the forthcoming months.

Envirowall has provided sustainable options to traditional in store fixture and wall design. The quality of manufacture and service provided has been of a high standard.

The design of our new exhibition space meant that we had a diverse range of elements to construct – partition walls, shelving, cabinets and worktops to support touchscreen monitors and interactive exhibits. We chose 18mm Envirowall Strawboard on the basis of its environmental credentials, having worked with it throughout the construction of the new exhibition we were absolutely delighted with it as a material in its own right – it cuts cleanly and accurately, and chamfering edges with a router was straightforward. The material is extremely strong, requiring minimal framing and support, and takes fixings (screws and staples) reliably. The surface is extremely smooth, fills well, and looks great painted.”

The M&S Bournemouth shop had become the first store in the retailers 550 plus portfolio to enjoy a green makeover, making it one of the most environmentally friendly stores in Britain. Even the store shelving units are made from a product called envirowall, a substance that is a similar in texture to a washing up bowl which is lighter, easier to transport and a lot more scratch resistant than the old multi density fibreboard. Walls were made of ‘envirowall’ from recycled paper and waste material.
‘Envirowalls approach to the development of our stores was refreshing and new. They have managed to make significant savings on our shopfit costs when compared to other traditional type, competitive tender bids. On some projects, our shopfit programs have also been significantly reduced allowing our stores to open quicker.
Envirowall products have been used extensively in our European store and showroom program in Europe. Envirowall’s superior eco-credentials support our brand values and are an integral part of our in-store fixture design. I would not hesitate in recommending the Envirowall product and high quality of service received to anyone who is serious about building a store portfolio in a better, more sustainable way.

I just wanted to thank you for all the support you gave to the UK-GBC in order to build the exhibition stand at Ecobuild. I think you’ll agree the stand looked fantastic. The new style wavy product is excellent, and as you saw with the lighting, it really did look fantastic. I’ll continue to display your brand on the product towers and the sponsor presentations.

A fair amount of the display equipment in the middle of the floor is not standard M&S store furniture, although it looks the same. A display unit with womens leather vanity boxes, for example has white shelves made from something called envirowall, which is a more sustainable and considerably more robust material than the mdf that is normally used.
We spoke to Envirowall initially due to their unique sustainability credentials that really fitted well with our own brand values and CSR commitments. Envirowall provided us with display designs that stood out against the competition and helped massively to promote our product range. We would recommend the services and products of Envirowall without hesitation. Envirowall were highly committed to getting the project just right for us, involved us every step of the way and provided us with fantastic looking units through what seemed to be a slick and efficient design development process.

Envirowall has provided our first flagship salon with a certain ‘wow factor’. The sculptured Envirowall panels and mood lighting look fantastic and have created a unique treatment area where customers feel relaxed. Initially we were a little dubious if the panels would produce the desired effect, but when mounted on the wall we knew envirowall was the right choice giving the area a natural relaxed ambiance for our customers. We were particularly impressed with Envirowall’s eco-credentials being made entirely from recycled newspapers, magazines and waste material making it totally recycled and recyclable.
